However, it appears that those days are slowly fading and the new age policemen seem to be like the honest cops that we see in films.
Lately, the drive against drunken driving is one area where the cops are doing a commendable job. Apparently, as per the new rules, the system of punishment is following three steps-
If a person is caught first time, they are taken to court directly. A token number will be given and if it demands, from 9 am to 6 pm they are making them to sit. The idea is to give them the torture to see the effects of drinking and driving.
If second time mistake happens, the licence is cancelled immediately. And if you get caught the third time, without a second thought, you are behind the bars. Of course, it will not be as serious as it is for criminals but for a layman it is fearful enough.
With this, many are shivering at the way the AP police have been putting an iron foot on drunken driving. Thanks to that, the crime rate is getting reduced in a significant way and also to less number of accidents. The Hyderabad police is implementing this strongly and is setting a true example.
