There was a time when Gold was considered the precious investment for many in India. For some, it became an asset to be given away during weddings of their daughters.
However, what was seen as an affordable asset has now become a dream. With each passing day, the price of gold has been touching the sky and there seems to be a point of no return to it. While there is a talk that all this is due to the lobbying of key gold sellers to make extra money, here is another interesting side.
Lately, the exorbitant prices in Gold jewellery have resulted in a dip in the buying. So now, it is heard that few top shot jewellers in city have come up with a new method. It is heard that the have begun to rent out the jewellery. Apparently, the ladies in the creamy layer of society are often keen on coming up with new sets of designs and jewellery for every party they attend. So, it is natural that variety is the name of the game for them.
Keeping that in mind, the jewellers are reportedly handing out their range of jewellery sets, albeit at a price. However, this is being given only to very reliable customers and it is heard that the cost of rental for few days amounts up to few thousands. At the end of the day, it is turning out to be a win-win situation to the jeweller and the customer. However, what remains to be seen is, what if the same set is rented to another customer after few days and the previous user comes to the same party.
Anyways, this has become a smart approach for resolving the pain of not being able to buy gold but enjoying it at the same time. While the temporary approach is working out for a few, there are those conventional folks who say that this is not a good sign. Traditionally, Gold carries a lot of sentimental value to Indians and acquiring it is considered a culture. So, this artificial system of feeling good by sporting a metal for few hours is not going too well for some.
