Growing Live-in relation trend in India

From a distance, the world sees India as the land of tradition and culture with a large importance on family bonding and relations. But to those who live in the Indian society and have been noticing the rapid change in the mindset of the generations, this is far from reality. Thanks to the strong influence of the electronic media, the internet and other avenues of entertainment spreading a negative vibe about everything, even the values are changing.

A recent survey has revealed that the new age youngsters are opting for live-in relations and the institution of marriage is being shunned. While some cover it up saying they have to get to know their partner and live-in is the best way, others are mincing no words and making it clear that they cannot go for a lifetime commitment with a single individual. To add to the woes, those who are opting for live-in relations are also making it clear that they are not keen on kids.

While that would help control the population problem to an extent, the relationship experts are concerned that this would give rise to relationships with multiple partners and loss of ethics as well as risk of diseases. It is also heard that especially those who got divorced are opting for this format of relationship and that too without any hang-ups like kids or family.

The other part of the survey was about the new age youngsters and their marriages. It is reported that majority are getting married only due to parental pressure and they are feeling tied to it without interest. The final nail in the head is, this culture is rising majorly among the girls. There are many who are saying that if a man goes out of control then a woman has the power to stop him but when a woman goes out of control then no one can stop her. Sad and shameful folks…
