Charan gets engaged today

The much-awaited engagement is finally happening! Tollywood star, Ram Charan Tej and Upasana Kamineni will be engaged today, laying to rest all rumours about the venue.
This was revealed in a press release sent out by Chiranjeevi’s family. Venue Temple Trees, the Kamineni family’s farm house near Himayathsagar is a beehive of activity as people prepare for the big event.
A friend of Charan's says, "This is a big event for all of us in Tollywood. It is a big vacation for us, where all of us are looking forward to catching up with each other and being part of the couple's big day."
According to tradition the engagement is being organised by the fiancé’s family and to ensure that everything goes smoothly, they are even having a “dress rehearsal” — twice over! Though the arrangements are very elaborate, a select few will only be invited to the engagement.
Both families performed a special puja on November 30 in the temple complex of the Jubilee Hills Apollo Hospital to bless the auspicious occasion.

Asin, Kajal both are friends

The film industry is a place where relationships are made and broken on the snap of a finger. While most of the times it is about breakups or fights between friends, here is something to cheer us up. We are talking about a tale of friendship that is reportedly brewing between two hot heroines.

Well, the person in focus is Asin and her hot girlfriend is none other than Kajal Agarwal. Sources say when both acted together for the Lux soap ad, a chemistry triggered between them and now both have developed a good rapport.

Now, it is heard that Asin and Kajal are spending time together whenever they can or if not, they manage to text each other during their hectic schedules. If this friendship sustains then both Asin and her hot girlfriend are surely setting an example for other starlets in the cinema circuit.

School for SEX

While many people may think it's an activity which should be best learned behind closed doors, an enterprising Swedish schoolmistress thinks otherwise.
Ylva-Maria Thompson has opened the world's first international sex school for teaching the art of being better lovers, the Daily Mail reported.
The Austrian International Sex School in Vienna offers 'hands on' lessons in seduction for 1,400 pounds a term. The 'headmistress' says anyone over the age of 16 can enrol at 'the world's first college of applied sexuality'.
Students of the course are expected to stay in a co-ed dormitory block where they're expected to practice their 'homework'. By the end of their course, they are awarded a qualification.
The school head said: "Our core education is not theoretical, but very practical. The emphasis is on how to be a better lover.
"Sexual positions, caressing techniques, anatomical features. And we teach people hands on."
School's spokesperson Melodi Kirsch exuded confidence that the school would be a great success.
The school, however, has already turned controversial in Austria with it raunchy advertisments showing a couple making love having already invited ban by Austrian TV.

IAS Srilakshmi Suspended

In a further humiliation to senior IAS officer Y Srilakshmi, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the Obulapuram Mining case, the Kiran Kumar Reddy government on Thursday suspended her from service, pending the CBI inquiry.
As per the government rules, any official who happens to be in the custody or judicial remand for more than 48 hours, has to be suspended from the job till the inquiry is completed and he or she gets acquitted. One does not know how long this Obulapuram mining case will go on; and till such time, Srilakshmi would have to be out of job under suspension.
Though Srilakshmi might get half-pay all through her suspension period, the arrest and the CBI inquiry into her alleged irregularities, would be recorded in her service register and would continue to haunt her till her retirement. Not only that, it would severely hamper her image, credibility and also the promotion chances.
A bright officer that she is, Srilakshmi had all the chances of rising to the rank of Chief Secretary in her career. And all that is now spoiled because of one scam.
Srilakshmi applied for bail stating that she was suffering from heart ailments. She complained of sickness on Thursday morning and the doctors had conducted tests on her. May be she will get the bail on health grounds.

Telugu News Channels' Rating race

The television viewership ratings, popularly called TRP ratings, for the Telugu news channels for the last few weeks have been surprising the media analysts, making them wonder whether there is any change in the taste of the news channel viewers, or whether there is any “hera pheri” in the rating system at all.
Take for instance, the TRP ratings being given to the Telugu new schannels by TAM Media Research India for the just concluded week were really surprising: NTV, run by Narendra Chowdary, has climbed to the top slot with 3.77 points, followed by ETV2 wit 3.42 points.
The popular news channel TV9 which was reigning supreme at the top rank all these weeks came down to the third position with 2.25 points, followed by TV5 channel with 1.84 points.
Interestingly, Sakshi news channel promoted by YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy which had once reached the no. 1 position, plunged to the sixth position with just 0.69 points and it stands only after Maha TV (1.51 points) and Zee TV (0.76 points).
ABN-Andhra Jyothy channel stands in the poor ninth position (0.48 points), behind T-News (0.64 points).
And the last and least viewed channel in the list, as per the TAM ratings, is Studio-N, now owned by Junior NTR. It has got just 0.30 points, and falls far behind I-News (0.47 points) and HMTV (0.43 points).
Though these ratings vary from week to week and from month to month, it will help the channels correct themselves and improve their programmes for a better viewership.

Its pouring News Channels in Telugu

Can viewers take more viewers?
People have lost count of the number of news channels that are airing in Telugu. Last checked, there are as many as 13 satellite news channels and half-a-dozen cable channels bombarding viewers in Andhra Pradesh with an overdose of current non-affairs.
But the promoters seem to be unfazed. While three more channels have been announced, a couple more have been in the pipeline. While Image, V6 and ABC News have started work, Tulasi and another from the Chiranjeevi-Ganta Srinivasa Rao camp are yet to take a shape.
Those who are familiar with the TV market are a little surprised at the audacity of the promoters at this stage. In the cluttered TV news market, most of the current channels are running in losses. While monthly expenses are in the range of a crore, at least half of the channels are not able to earn more than 60-70 lakhs.
With more channels in the fray, it is likely that all of them will have to share this pie. This only means that all the channels will have to fight for the same advertisements.
Image Channel promoter C Venkatesara rao is a step ahead by splashing his ads for recruitment across all the major Telugu and English newspapers, but asking even Chief Editor to send resume for the post caused a little consternation among the hopefuls.
V6 is being promoted by Telangana Congress MP Vivekananda, an industrialist in his own right. It is said to be targeting the market in Telangana. The channel has already placed orders for equipment with vendors. Expected date of launch is January end. If everything goes as planned, V6 might be the first one to hit the post.
ABC, aiming to be the first Vijayawada-based news channel, is reportedly being promoted by Abhaya Gold group. There are a lot of question marks over its feasibility both in terms of revenues and staffing. Though they claim to have plans to commence broadcast from Sankranthi, doubts persist over its future.

KCR Sons & Co. got its share????

KCR under scanner
Kancha Ilaiah, a professor of political science, has always been a bitter critic of KCR and his ideological moorings. The dalit intellectual has charged the undisputed leader of TRS of sabotaging the movement for the separate state in lieu of Polavaram contract.
The diminutive professor also alleges that KCR’s family were given away sub-contracts in the ongoing Metro project and expensive cars besides the Rs 4,000 cr worth Polvaram contract for derailing the ‘sakala janula same (general strike)’ and diluting the agitation.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singsh would not have made a categorical statement against separate Telangana without the ‘dangle’ of Polavaram, Dr Ilaiah,  presently director for the study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy, Maulana Azad National Urdu University in Hyderabad, concludes.
He charges the leadership of political JAC of being in cahoots in this deal.
KCR would be another Madhu Koda or a Sibu Soren in illegitimate collections, even in the event of Telangana being formed by a remote chance in the backdrop of the politics of Mayawati, the contrarian thinker argues.
In any case, the Andhra politicians would not allow division after having allowed KCR grabbing the Polavaram contract, the activist-writer says.
Congress Party would not order any inquires into the illegal assets of this first family of Telangana politics, as TRS had saved the government from the threat posed by Jagan, Prof Ilaiah concludes.
